Boots & Blades brings country energy to the ice aboard Royal Caribbean’s Liberty of the Seas, combining high-energy skating, theatrical lighting, music, and technology in a fast-paced production created for the ship’s newly transformed ice arena.
Created for Royal Caribbean’s amplified Liberty of the Seas, Boots & Blades is a country-inspired ice spectacular that combines precision skating and athletic performance with the energy and attitude of contemporary country entertainment. The production debuted as part of the ship’s major 2026 transformation, which included upgrades to its onboard entertainment experiences.
As Lighting Designer, Lighting Programmer, and BlackTrax Programmer, Samuel Doty shaped the production’s lighting environment and programmed the show while integrating performer-tracking technology into the visual design. Lighting and tracking work together with the skating, music, and production elements to follow the performers across the ice and support the show’s fast-moving choreography.
