Overview

Featuring the music of Jim Steinman and songs made famous by Meat Loaf, Bat Out of Hell – The Musical is a large-scale rock musical set in the post-apocalyptic city of Obsidian. The story follows Strat, the eternally young leader of the rebellious Lost, and Raven, the daughter of the city’s tyrannical ruler, Falco.

Directed by Jay Scheib, the 2026 North American tour combined a live rock band, multi-level scenic environments, video and theatrical spectacle to create a heightened world shaped by rebellion, youth, fantasy and rock-and-roll.

Contribution

Matthew Solomon served as Costume Supervisor for the North American tour, overseeing the realization, coordination and maintenance of the production’s extensive costume world across its Canadian and United States engagements.

Working from the established costume designs, Matthew supported the adaptation of the wardrobe for the North American company and the practical demands of touring. His responsibilities included costume coordination, fittings, alterations, continuity, performer needs, wardrobe systems and the preservation of the production’s visual identity throughout the tour.
