Disney's The Little Mermaid

Costume Designer · Westport Country Playhouse · 2019

Overview

Disney’s The Little Mermaid brings the animated classic to the stage, following Ariel as she leaves her underwater kingdom in pursuit of a life—and love—in the world above.

Presented by Broadway Method Academy at Westport Country Playhouse, the production paired Broadway performers with a large student ensemble and was directed by original Broadway Little Mermaid cast member Bret Shuford.

Critical Reception

“Costumes designed by Matthew Solomon… were colorful in nature and flowed nicely.”

The review also singled out Ursula’s “gloriously nasty costume,” noting that the costume and wig “added much to her presence in every scene.”— Patch / Nancy Sasso Janis
