Cirque Dreams Holidaze transforms the imagery and traditions of the holiday season into a visually driven theatrical circus experience. The production combines aerial performance, acrobatics, balancing acts, dance, music, elaborate costumes, scenic environments, and theatrical technology within the distinctive visual world of Cirque Dreams.
Sam Doty’s work on Holidaze spans multiple productions created over the course of his longstanding relationship with Cirque Dreams. As the title has been reimagined with new casts, acts, staging, scenery, and production elements, Sam has returned to create entirely new lighting designs for different iterations of the show. His work balances the precision and visibility required for specialty performance with the color, scale, movement, and transformation central to the production’s holiday spectacle.
