Sgt. Pepper Live featuring Cheap Trick transformed one of rock music’s most famously studio-driven albums into a full theatrical concert experience. Cheap Trick performed Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band with a full orchestra, additional musicians, vocalists, and guest performers in a production that brought the complexity and experimentation of the landmark album to the live stage.
Sam Doty served as Lighting Designer, translating the album’s constantly changing musical landscapes into a visual journey. His design moved between psychedelic spectacle, rock-concert energy, orchestral scale, and more intimate musical moments while integrating the band, orchestra, guest performers, and scenic environment into a unified live experience.
