Created and produced by Brandon Kazen-Maddox and Up Until Now Collective, SOUL(SIGNS): Making Music Visible explores the intersection of American Sign Language, music, and filmmaking. Featuring interviews, performance, and an ASL music video for Morgan James’ song “Drown,” the film brings Deaf and hearing artists together to explore how music can be made visible.

Directed by Kevin Newbury, the film stars Russell Harvard, with Rosa Lee Timm serving as Director of Artistic Sign Language. Matthew Solomon designed the costumes, supporting the performers’ individual identities and the project’s integration of movement, music, and signed storytelling.
