Overview

Manhattan Theatre Club commissioned a photo shoot to introduce the Broadway production of Martyna Majok’s Cost of Living. The images brought the play’s four principal performers together for the production’s poster, advertising, and editorial photography.

The campaign features Gregg Mozgala, Katy Sullivan, Kara Young, and David Zayas. Its key art places the performers in paired portraits, while a separate series uses coordinated black looks for editorial images.

Contribution

Matthew Solomon was hired by Manhattan Theatre Club to style the photo shoot while production Costume Designer Jessica Pabst was out of town. He styled the performers’ poster looks and the coordinated black looks used for the editorial photographs.

His work focused on how the clothing read on camera across the campaign’s different images. This was styling for the promotional shoot, separate from the costume design of the stage production.
