A Class Act

Costume Designer · Off-Broadway · Theatre Row · 2022

Overview

A Class Act is a musical biography of Edward Kleban, the Tony Award-winning lyricist of A Chorus Line, told through his own music and lyrics.

J2 Spotlight Musical Theater Company presented the first New York revival since the musical’s Broadway production, directed by Robert W. Schneider at Theatre Row.

Contribution

Matthew Solomon served as Costume Designer, creating a wardrobe that moved through Kleban’s life and the New York theatre world surrounding him. The design balanced period references with the production’s intimate approach while helping the ensemble transform into the many artists and collaborators who shaped Kleban’s story.
