Enough:Reckoning with Redress

Costume Design for Enough, a historical docudrama created as part of Full Spectrum Features’ Reckoning with Redress cinematic digital history project.

Matthew Solomon served as Costume Designer for Enough, a historical short docudrama produced by Full Spectrum Features as part of Reckoning with Redress, a cinematic digital history project exploring the Japanese American Redress Movement.

Filmed largely at Northeastern Illinois University, Enough recreates the landmark 1981 Chicago hearings of the Commission on Wartime Relocation and Internment of Civilians (CWRIC), where Japanese American community members testified about their experiences of wrongful incarceration during World War II and its lasting consequences. The film weaves together two timelines through Ashley, a biracial student confronting the erasure of racial justice in the present, and Erika, a Japanese American teenager in 1981 whose father becomes involved in the historic reparations hearings.

The costume design supports both the contemporary story and the film’s recreation of 1981, helping distinguish the two periods while grounding the historical sequences in the lived experience surrounding the Redress Movement.

Enough was presented at Chicago’s 2026 Day of Remembrance and the Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival and will screen as part of the public launch of Reckoning with Redress at Northeastern Illinois University on September 22, 2026—the 45th anniversary of the Chicago CWRIC hearings.
